Customers to enjoy added Celcom reload convenience at 5,000 BSN registered banking agents by year-end


KUALA LUMPUR, 1 August 2013 – Celcom Axiata Berhad, the first and foremost mobile telecommunications service provider in Malaysia, today collaborates with Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) to be the direct channel partner to offer even more convenient locations for prepaid reloads via BSN’s nationwide network of Registered Banking Agents (EBB).

BSN currently services more than 8 million customers holding 11.13 million accounts (as of June 2013) with retail savings deposits standing at RM13.04 billion.

The partnership will immediately see Celcom prepaid reloads made available at more than 4,209 selected EBB BSN premises, with 5,000 agents targeted by the end of the year. This greatly enhances the ways for Celcom customers to obtain instant and readily-available reload top-ups via EBB BSN’s services which is available nationwide.

Sales of prepaid reloads will be done through BSN’s Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals which allow for fully-digital transactions while removing the need for physical stock. Transactions performed through this channel are secure with Celcom M2M services and come at no additional cost, giving customers complete peace of mind as with Celcom’s other prepaid reload channels such as Airtime Share as well as Celcom branches and authorised agents.

Today’s ceremonial agreement was signed between En. Saiful Bahrin Abd Ghaffar, Director – National Distribution Field Sales of Celcom Axiata Berhad and En. Yunus Abd Ghani, Deputy Chief Executive (Community Banking) of BSN.

The signing was officially witnessed by Datuk Adinan Maning, Chief Executive of BSN together with  Mr Eric Chong, Chief Sales & Commercial Officer of Celcom Axiata. The entire process was overseen by BSN’s Chairman YBhg Tan Sri Abu Bakar Abdullah and  Dato’ Sri Shazalli Ramly, Chief Executive Officer of Celcom Axiata Berhad.

At the signing, Datuk Adinan said BSN’s 4,209 EBBs have recorded more than RM 7.9 million transactions amounting to more than RM 705 million.

All Celcom prepaid brands are eligible for reload purchased through BSN’s authorised banking agents, including Celcom First, Xpax, X24, U.O.X, S.O.X, Celcom Frenz and Instanet broadband.
