Dear Valued Cardmember,

In line with the nationwide banking industry initiative to replace signature cards with PIN (Personal Identification Number) cards for a more secure payment method, BSN will be issuing PIN-enabled cards to all BSN Credit/-i and Debit/-i members in phases beginning 1 January 2016.

Existing BSN Credit Card/-i members don’t need to request for a new card. You will receive your new PIN & PAY card via mail before 31 December 2016 at the latest. Meanwhile for existing BSN Debit Card/-i and BSN Matrix/-i members, you can replace your card and get the PIN immediately at any BSN branch beginning 1 January 2016. PIN & PAY card is a PIN-enabled card that allows you to make purchases at any point-of-sale (POS) terminal in Malaysia by keying-in a 6-digit PIN, with no signature required. You can use the PIN & PAY card as soon as you activate your card and change the PIN. For BSN Credit Card/-i members, we will promptly update you on the methods of obtaining your PIN via upcoming communications.

From 1 July 2017 onwards, all card transactions in Malaysia will be using PIN & PAY, signature will no longer be accepted. The same applies when you use your card overseas. However, for those countries that do not support PIN-based transaction, you can still opt for a payment authorisation via signature.

Kindly be informed, you can continue to sign for any retail purchases until your BSN Credit or Debit Card/-i is replaced by the Bank. Rest assured there will be no service interruptions to your card usage during this transition period.
