Tanah Rata chosen as the BSN Day venue to signify half journey through the international competition

Cameron Highlands, 25 February 2017 – Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) welcomed the cyclists and crew of Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2017 in BSN style at Tanah Rata today, at the finish line of the competition’s 4th stage. Crowds were welcomed by the BSN Bikers Club on superbikes which were among the special lined up activity of the celebration. The BSN Bikers Club will also be joining at the finishing line of Stage 5 in Kuala Kubu Bharu. 

In conjunction with the BSN Day celebration, the crew of the prestigious road cycling race were also dressed in specially designed BSN Day shirts. The bank’s team led by Frederick Siew, BSN’s Deputy Chief Executive, Retail Banking welcomed the cyclists and race crew at Tanah Rata in an event graced by the Chief Minister of Pahang, Dato’ Sri Diraja Haji Adnan Yaakob. 

“LTdL is an event that goes to the ground and to the root where it reaches out to the people or community. This is the uniqueness of LTdL and we believe by maximizing this through BSN Day, we have the potential to diversify our market segment, reach out to the community and hold fast to our mandated role in aspiring its roles to strengthen investment, inculcating savings as well as educating the community on financial literacy in our quest to offer even more products and services that cater to the progressive needs of modern life” said Mr Frederick Siew, Deputy Chief Executive, Retail Banking BSN.

In addition to that, specially designed for LTdL 2017, we are having campaigns for our champion products namely BSN SSP, personal financing as well as credit cards from 15th February until 15th March 2017 at the finish line of all stages. Each customer who saves more than RM10, 000 through the BSN SSP will receive the exclusive Teal Sprint Jerseys that will be signed by the Sprint Champion and other interesting merchandizes” said Mr Frederick. 

He added, as one of the longest home grown products, BSN aspire to continuously keep the bank abreast with new partnerships; in this case the partnership with LTdL which allows them to connect with new partners and thus create more opportunities that leads to growth in terms of expansion and revenue generation.

The stage at Tanah Rata saw Frederick presenting the teal jersey to Scott Sunderland, who won the Sprint Challenge in the 4th stage of the race. To date, four stages have been held consecutively across four days and four states, with the latest being the journey from Seri Manjung to Cameron Highlands. BSN is also participating in the pit-stops for the race, whereby their designated cavalcade cars will convoy across Peninsular Malaysia. 

Other activities in store include stage activities through a special segment with BSN and exciting quizzes, promotional talk, artist performance, lucky draws and many more for the whole family to enjoy.
