8 stages and 2 federal territories successfully crossed for this year

Putrajaya, 1 March 2017 – Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN)’s team, led by Chairman, Tan Sri Abu Bakar Abdullah, gathered with thousands of cycling fans to witness the conclusion of Le Tour de Langkawi 2017 here today. 

The 22nd edition of Asia’s top road cycling race, held from 22 February to 1 March 2017, concluded at Dataran xxx in Putrajaya, after Stage 8 from Setiawangsa to Putrajaya Loop. Tan Sri Abu Bakar welcomed the cyclists and race crew at the finish line, in an event graced by the Youth and Sports Minister, YB Khairy Jamaluddin. 

Over the eight stages of the competition across eight states and two federal territories, BSN as the official sponsor for the daily Sprint Champions through our teal jersey has made a significant impact throughout the whole journey. During finale stage in Putrajaya, Tan Sri Abu Bakar presented the teal jersey to the Sprint Champion for Stage 8, Ryan Gibbons. 

“Our participation was well received when we created more partnerships with other partners. More business opportunities were then established; all of which offering and registering expansion and growth (tangible and intangible) of the Bank. This is an initiative that allows us to help Malaysians to achieve their better life, to assist them to decide on their financial requirements and most important is for us to ensure prudent banking access is provided for them,” Tan Sri Abu Bakar said. 

He added, “Over the eight days, it has been very meaningful to us to indirectly conduct our own informal tour across Peninsular Malaysia through the pit stop participation and booth activities through promoting our products and services not forgetting our special BSN LTdL campaign which were very crowd-pleasing. We had further opportunities to strengthen connections with our customers, banking agents, school children and many other Malaysians from all walks of life. We are also used our wide network to aid nation building and connect all Malaysians to the modern world, not just to offer banking services but also in educating the Malaysian in financial literacy and smart saving especially towards the small savers ”. 

Throughout the 8 stages, the BSN booth has received a very positive response from the public. Promotions at our booth during this period has made a significant impact from our current and new customers that have asked about the bank’s new products and services from all over the states. The teal jerseys was the main attraction that entice the customers to save with BSN SSP and at the same time stand a chance to get other exclusive merchandizes including the BSN’s LTdL umbrella, water bottle and cap.

Families were also having fun as entertainment and stage performances were scheduled at the finish line of all stages.
